Previously, CentOS 8 enjoyed unparalleled popularity; however, Red Hat's recent announcement regarding the termination of CentOS 8 support from December 31st, 2021, has compelled a transition to CentOS 8 Stream.
Additionally, cPanel's decision to discontinue support for the CentOS stream has prompted the release of AlmaLinux 8, providing extensive support until 2029.
